Recalled Product Destruction & Recall Disposal

A recall is measured in hours, and the affected inventory has to leave under control and on the record. SoCal Product Disposal coordinates recalled inventory disposal and destruction for manufacturers, distributors and warehouses across Southern California.

  • Recalls
  • Market withdrawals
  • Multi-site pickups
  • Verified counts

Recall disposal is a documentation project as much as a removal project

When affected product is pulled from distribution, someone eventually has to answer two questions: how much came back, and what happened to it. If the material simply left on a truck with no counts and no records, those questions get difficult later — during customer inquiries, insurance discussions or an internal review.

We plan recall projects backwards from the record you need. The counting method, photographic evidence and the documentation that will accompany the completed work are agreed before the first pallet moves.

1. Scope the affected inventory

Lots, SKUs, quantities and the locations holding them, including 3PL and customer-return volumes.

2. Agree verification and records

How quantities will be counted and what documentation your quality, legal or insurance team requires.

3. Coordinate priority pickup

Transportation arranged with appropriate service providers, sized to each site's dock and volume.

4. Close out with documentation

Counts, photographs, weight information and destruction records supplied where supported by the completed work.

Scope

Recalled and withdrawn material we handle

Packaged food and beverage, ingredients and raw inputs, and branded packaging or labeling associated with the affected lots — in cases, pallets, drums or totes.

Regulatory obligations during a recall belong to the recalling firm and its counsel. RM Waste supports the physical removal, destruction and documentation of the material; we do not provide regulatory determinations, and we confirm handling only after the material has been characterized.

Questions

Recall Disposal FAQs

Answers depend in part on the material and how it is classified. When a definitive answer requires review, we say so and confirm after we see the product details.

How fast can a recall pickup be arranged?

+

Recall projects are prioritized. Timing still depends on the material, volume, location and any documentation that must be in place before transport, but we will give you a realistic window as soon as we have the product details.

Can quantities be reconciled to our recall records?

+

Yes. Agree the counting method up front — pallets, cases, units or weight — and we will document the quantity removed so it can be reconciled against your internal recall reporting.

Can you pick up recalled product from multiple locations?

+

Yes. Multi-site recalls are coordinated site by site, with counts and documentation kept separate per location unless you ask for them consolidated.

What documentation accompanies a recall destruction project?

+

Depending on the project and downstream facility, that can include photographs, inventory verification, weight tickets when available, receiving or disposal documentation and a Certificate of Destruction when applicable and supported by downstream records.
